The question of burial or cremation is one of the major decisions that will need to be made in relation to a funeral service.  Please do not hesitate to request further written information on both options.
It can also be of great benefit to visit the grounds of the cemeteries and the crematorium and ask the staff any specific questions that you may have.

During the funeral arrangements what options are available if Burial is chosen?

Burial is a traditional choice and has been the preference of many cultures for thousands of years.

There are a number of cemeteries available to the residents of the A.C.T.  and the surrounding areas.  These include:
•       Gungahlin Cemetery
•       Woden Cemetery
•        Queanbeyan Cemetery; and
•       Hall Cemetery.

The cemeteries of the A.C.T are owned and operated by the A.C.T Government.  The Queanbeyan City Council is responsible for the Queanbeyan Cemetery.  Cemeteries offer a range of areas where burials may take place and are divided into three main sections:
•      The lawn section
•        Headstone section
•      The mausoleum section

Cemeteries allow three methods of memorialisation, which can range from plaques in the lawn cemetery, head stones in the headstone section or vault/crypt internments.  Further information please visit our website at www.toscandinn.com.au and follow the links.

During the funeral arrangements what options are available if Cremation is chosen?

A modern choice: Cremation has become an accepted option for many families.  It offers total flexibility with final memorialisation.  Ashes may be scattered, retained, halved or interred in a memorial garden or earth grave.

Norwood Park Crematorium serves the residents of the ACT.  It is privately owned and operated and located on Sandford Street, Mitchell. It has many memorial gardens, water features and different areas where outside services can be held.
